Mai Dubai, the leading bottled water company in the UAE fully owned by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), announced that it has won the first ever ‘Dubai Smart Industry Award.’ The latest recognition from the Dubai Quality Award is yet another testament to Mai Dubai’s exceptional processes, products and services that harness the potential of technology to generate increasing value for customers and other stakeholders.
The ‘Dubai Smart Industry Award’ was added to the Dubai Quality Award, which encourages and motivates companies and institutions to adhere to a policy of excellence, provide the best services, and recognize best practices in performance excellence. The award recognizes excellence in the industrial sector to encourage digital transformation in this space.
The bottled water company’s digitally integrated and fully automated production processes demonstrate the optimum utilization of technology. Furthermore, the Mai Dubai factory in Dubai is known for having the second-largest solar roof installation in the world and is the largest solar-powered company in the Middle East, generating a total of 18 megawatts of electricity, thereby preventing the release of 15,500 tons of CO2 per year.

The Smart Industry award was jointly developed by the Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of Dubai Economy, and the Business Excellence Department in Dubai Economy. The new award under DQA seeks to involve the industrial sector in the excellence march in Dubai and encourage the digital transformation of industries in line with the objective set in the Dubai Industrial Strategy 2030 to elevate Dubai into a platform for knowledge-based, sustainable and innovation-focused industries.
